INTRODUCING THE CEO & FOUNDER

Ms. Monica Selden is the CEO and Founder of Selden Consulting and Selden Café.

Ms. Selden has over 15 years of financial and banking experience based in New York City, NY, and over 5 years of entrepreneurial experience in the United States and Colombia. Throughout her professional career, she has worked with financial institutions such as Wells Fargo and Mizuho Corporate Bank in different financial sectors (i.e. Public Finance, Structured Finance, Project Finance, Treasury Management, and Project Management) that have bases and operations in the United States, Japan, Europe, and Latin America. 

Additionally, Ms. Selden has formed an exporting coffee business that was first created in Bogota, Colombia with a now permanent presence in the United States. Once the coffee business was up and running, she set it up for logistical operations where she developed communication channels with all stakeholders, now creating systems to monitor product levels, import/export channels, and distribution networks.

Ms. Selden has instructed advanced ESL learners in a corporate environment, catering lesson plans toward workplace instruction, and identifying students' prior work history to provide individualized lesson plans, showcasing your ability to effectively assess learner needs and create customized learning experiences that are relevant and engaging.

Finally, Ms. Selden has experience researching, designing, and presenting workshops on cultural competency and providing training for doing business in the USA which highlights her ability to educate learners on important cross-cultural considerations and prepare them for success in a global business environment.

Overall, her experience and skill set makes her a valuable asset to any organization seeking to improve their employees' language proficiency, cultural competency, and overall workplace performance.

    Originally from the United States, a Virginia native, Mr. Karl Seckinger has been living in Bogota Colombia since 2015. For the last 8 years, Mr. Seckinger has been teaching English as a second language to students via private tutoring online, at different private institutions, and Embassies in Bogota, Colombia. Additionally, he is an experienced corporate trainer and Life Coach with over 30 years of sales and customer service experience.

    Karl is a certified TEFL & TOEFL instructor.
